Wally Young has close to 20 years practical experience in responding to issues
on behalf of major organisations and preparing senior staff for media
interviews. As head of Defence Force Media Relations in the early 1990’s he also conducted media interviews on behalf of the organisation on a regular
basis.
Young Communications now provides a wide range of public relations support
services, to include, event planning, media invitations, writing and issuing
press statements, dealing directly with media queries and most importantly
advising on specific approaches and responses in particular situations.
|
Young Communications was engaged by both ASH Ireland and the Irish Heart
Foundation as media and advocacy strategist in the lead in to the introduction
of the workplace smoking legislation (smoking ban). This is commonly regarded
as the most successful such campaign in recent years.
He also advised the Garda Representative Association on the ‘blue flu’ issue and other organisations on high profile issues, requiring communications
management both internally and externally.
He currently advises a number of commercial companies and Non-Government
organisations on the development and execution of advocacy, in respect to wider
campaigns and single issues. All such advice is strictly in keeping with best
practice.
|
Young Communications conduct a variety of half-day and full-day media training
exercises on behalf of clients and is also an established trainer on behalf of
the Public Relations Institute. One to one media training is also provided for
people planning to engage with the media, on a specific issue or occasion.
Young Communications is also engaged by Reidy Brophy (Risk Specialists) to
conduct a series of one-day Crisis Media Management Workshops, which includes a
relevant exercise and practical media interaction by participants.
Job Interview Training
The company has a well-established record in Job Interview Training with
assistance, if required, on CV preparation.

Wally Young is engaged as Media Adviser (part time) by President Michael D
